Prof. Cai received his PhD from Purdue University in 2008. In 20 12\, he joined the faculty of Georgia Institute of Technology as an Associ ate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering\, with a joint appoin tment in Materials Science and Engineering. Prior to this\, he has been a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University. Prof. Cai was promoted to full Professor in 2021.\n\n\n\nProf. Cai has published over 60 journal article s\, which in total have been cited around 16\,000 times. Prof. Cai has als o authored the book- Optical Metamaterials: Fundamentals and Applications along with our very own BNC Professor- Prof. Vladimir Shalaev. Prof. Cai i s the recipient of several national and international distinctions\, inclu ding the renowned OSA/SPIE Joseph W.
