Dear research colleagues,

We are getting ready for this year’s outreach event from Birck, which again will take place during Manufacturing Week at the Tippecanoe Fairgrounds like in previous 2 years.

We have decided to commit to 2 days of activities at Manufacturing Week, and we will be doing the middle school (Expo) portion but not the K-5 (Discovery) ages.

Our days will be Tues Sept. 30 / Wed Oct 1.

I’m reaching out to the Birck research community to see if your lab can create and carry out a “nano” activity, hopefully relating to your research, for middle school kids (grades 6-8) at Manufacturing Week.

Please let me know soon if you can participate in this 2 day event!

Some dates:

BY Wed., Aug. 27           - please let me know verbally if your group can participate, and what your activity will be

Friday, Sept. 5                 - groups each demonstrate their projects in BRK 1001

Monday, Sept. 8             - Neil and Kelli finalize the list of groups participating

Tues 9/30, Wed 10/1   - Birck activities at Manufacturing Week
