Dear Colleagues, I would like to announce an upcoming CasaXPS workshop titled "Introduction to CasaXPS: Essentials of XPS Data Analysis with CasaXPS." The workshop is scheduled to take place from November 7 to 8, 2023, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. We strongly encourage every research group that uses or plans to use Surface Analysis characterization tools to have at least one trained student attend this workshop. Course Description: XPS, or X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, is widely employed to determine the chemical composition of a surface, including element concentrations, chemical states, lateral and depth distributions, and more. In today's scientific landscape, XPS has evolved into a standard technique for the characterization of solid surfaces. However, XPS data necessitate thorough analysis, and dedicated software is employed for this purpose. Purdue University has a site license for CasaXPS, which allows for comprehensive analysis of XPS data. This course aims to achieve two primary objectives: (1) instruct participants on the essential analysis techniques for raw XPS data and (2) demonstrate how to execute these techniques using CasaXPS. The workshop will delve into both qualitative and quantitative analysis of XPS data using CasaXPS in a comprehensive manner. Practical Workshop: Please note that this is a hands-on workshop, and attendees are strongly recommended to bring their own Windows laptop.
