Limited Submission Competition: NSF Active Nanostructures and Nanosystems (ANN)
________________________________ Subject: Limited Submission Competition: NSF Active Nanostructures and Nanosystems (ANN) THIS MESSAGE IS BEING SENT ON BEHALF OF CHRISTINE KING: Dear Deans, Department Heads, and Discovery Park and VPR Center Directors, The National Science Foundation's next deadline for the Active Nanostructures and Nanosystems (ANN) program is November 15. This program supports proposals for collaborative research and education in the area of active nanostructures, nanosystems, and the long-term societal change associated with these innovations. The full program announcement may be found at http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2006/nsf06595/nsf06595.htm. For this competition, Purdue may submit two Nanoscale Interdisciplinary Research Teams (NIRT) proposals as lead organization, and two Nanoscale Exploratory Research (NER) proposals as lead organization, with a third NER allowed that addresses "Societal and Educational Issues Associated with Long-term Research Science and Engineering Advances." Internal letters of intent and preproposals (using templates on the website below) should clearly identify the type of proposal being submitted. Internal deadlines are as follows: Monday, September 11: Letters of Intent due to the OVPR. Monday, October 2: Preproposals due to the OVPR. Monday, October 9: Preproposal rankings due to the OVPR. Please note: Letters of intent, preproposals, and rankings to the OVPR should be e-mailed to OVPRlimited@purdue.edu. Purdue's recently-revised limited submission policy and template for letters of intent may be found at http://dagon.admin.purdue.edu/cgi-bin/lsid.cgi. For any case in which the number of internal letters of intent received is no more than the number of proposals allowed by the sponsor, the OVPR will notify the PI that an internal preproposal will be unnecessary. We appreciate your sharing this information with your faculty. Please let me know if you have questions about the limited submission process or this competition.
