Dear Members of the BNC Research Community, It has been brought to our attention that some researchers have been using Birck equipment without logging into our equipment scheduling systems (previously Coral, now transitioning to iLabs). This prevents proper scheduling and billing. Violating this policy prevents us from properly charging the appropriate grants/contracts as the rates are determined based on expenses and income for each equipment. This may jeopardize the Birck financial and legal status. We urge everyone in the community to make an effort to properly use these tools in order to avoid such issues. We hope everyone understands that willingly violating this policy may result in not only burdening other groups with higher rates but also problems with the federal and state governments as well.
