DISCOVERY PARK OPEN HOUSE & CONVERGENCE CONFERENCE BNC PM SHUT DOWN VOLUNTEER WITH AAAS EMERGINING LEADERS IN SCIENCE AND SOCIETY Volunteer with AAAS Emerging Leaders in Science and Society! The AAAS Emerging Leaders in Science and Society (ELISS) Purdue 2016 Fellows are planning and hosting an event with Indiana community members and experts. The event is designed to facilitate collaboration between people who work with drinking water in Indiana. Learnings from this local event will be discussed at a national event with federal policymakers in Washington DC! The goal is to make a positive impact for the future of our drinking water systems with a specific focus on drinking water contaminants in unregulated areas. The event will include a keynote speaker, small breakout sessions, panel discussion and a networking lunch. Please note that the event itself is by invite only. How can you benefit from volunteering with us? * Meet influential community members * Receive basic training on discussion facilitation of scientific topics * Get experience with a unique collaborative event * Make a positive impact in federal science policy * Add it to your resume * Be acknowledged on the AAAS ELISS website * Free lunch! What will you do as a volunteer? * Facilitate group discussion with influential community members * Take notes during group discussions * Photograph the event * General event support * You will be required to attend 1-2 training sessions and the event on October 5. How can you apply? * A general interest in multidisciplinary collaboration of scientific/societal issues is required.
