This week's presentation will feature Zach Hughes with "A LOW COST WIRELESS UV DOSIMETER FOR OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD MONITORING" Excessive exposure to UV rays from the sun is shown to significantly increase the risk for outdoor workers to develop skin cancer. We demonstrate an ultraviolet-monitoring system that can rapidly and wirelessly report readings from a large number of individuals at once, and can be fabricated at reduced cost. This lowers the entry barrier for employers to be able to detect, quantify, and counteract the risk of UV skin damage for their workers.
