Among the many suggestions received have been apparel and other wearable items. Out of respect for the families we ask that groups not pursue the purchase or promotion of these types of items at this time. There may be an opportunity at some later time to support an official item and/or memorial fund that will support those who were affected by this tragedy. For now, what Boilermakers need most is a shoulder or a helping hand. There also have been a number of unauthorized products presented in the marketplace under the "Boiler Strong" message. Please avoid purchase of such items. The University will seek to present a means for expression when appropriate and once the wishes of the families affected have been consulted. Mary King Senior Director, Customer Relationship Marketing Purdue Marketing & Media Lab Information The Biophysical Analysis Lab (BAL) at the Bindley Biosciences Center is to provide complete biophysical analyses of macromolecules, nanoparticles, polymers and biologics. In the lab, there are two analytical ultracentrifuges: Beckman-Coulter XLI and XLA, a Biacore 3000, an ITC, and a SEC-MALS platform. With these instruments we can determine kinetic parameters, stoichiometry of binding, size distribution, shape, oligomerization state and other biophysical measurements. The lab strives to establish long-term collaborations and deliver professional quality data that can be used for publications and grant proposals. If you have any questions do not hesitate to email! Instruments: Analytical Ultracentrifugation: Sedimentation Velocity and Equilibrium analyses. (Beckman Coulter XL-A and XL-I). Size distributions, hydrodynamic radius, weighted average MW. SEC MALS: Used to complement the AUC analyses for absolute determination of molecular weights. Effective when samples contain detergents and lipids. (Wyatt Mini Dawn Trios and Optilab T-rEX) Surface Plasmon Resonance: Used to study the reaction kinetics of interactions. This is coupled to the AUC analyses for stoichiometry and kinetic determinations of interactions. (BiaCore 3000) Isothermal Titration Calorimetry: Determine binding stoichiometry and strength of interactions. Direct measure of thermodynamic parameters. (MicroCal/GE ITC (200)) DMA 5000: Solution density determination. Cary Eclipse Fluorimeter: 384 well/single cuvette. Fluorescence capabilities. MALDI 4800: "Top Down" analysis of samples to determine purity, size and heterogeneity.
