ISS news: According to the ISS department, faculty should plan ahead if they anticipate hiring international faculty or staff who need H-1B sponsorship. ISS recommends that all H-1B petitions with August start dates be submitted no later than April 1st to allow for adequate processing time. Cases submitted after that date may not meet the hiring deadline if we continue to experience lengthy delays with the DOL. Even with premium processing service we are anticipating a processing time of 4 months from start to finish. It is therefore critical that faculty plan ahead when hiring international faculty and staff.
