After an almost two-year battle with cancer, Casey Heaton passed away. He died at home, as was his wish. All of us who visited him in the past week found him in great spirits and in top form with his sense of humor. His decline and death over the past couple of days was mercifully quick. It goes without saying that he will be greatly missed. His attitude, his humor, his technical competence, and most of all his friendship is something that all of us who knew him will carry forward in our memories. His contributions to BNC will live for many years to come, a fitting legacy to Casey. A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, 11 November 2007 - details will follow in the near future.
