A/V equipment in Birck: new projectors have been installed in BRK 1001 and 2001. In addition, the cables have been repaired on the projectors in BRK 1099 and 1201. Repair folks note that users should exercise caution when plugging the cable into computers: when one attempts to attach the cable incorrectly, the connectors get broken. Lastly, LCDs have arrived for installation for BRK 1024, 2024, 1290, and 2290. We're on the carpentry waiting list.

OPPORTUNITIES

LIMITED SUBMISSION: Packard Fellowships for Science and Engineering. The David and Lucille Packard Foundation has issued its 2009 request for nominations for its Fellowships in Science and Engineering. The purpose of the fellowship is to assist professors in the natural and physical sciences or engineering to pursue their science and engineering research. Each year, 50 universities are invited to submit two nominations for this competition. Sixteen fellowships of $875,000 over five years will be granted. [More]
