MONDAY MEMO, September 3, 2007 **************** 1. Announcements **************** 1.1: There¹s trouble with RAT. Please be advised that due to technical difficulties, the RAT system does not seem to be adding and tracking room reservations correctly. We are currently working with ECN to get problems resolved. In the meantime, unfortunately, weekly meetings previously scheduled may have been lost. MELISSA LANE will be creating temporary calendars for each of our meeting rooms and will handling room reservations. By having one person responsible, we hope to reduce the amount of confusion and provide for a smooth transition once the problems with RAT have been corrected 1.2: Holiday Schedule for Saturday through Monday, September 1-3: Saturday, Sunday, Monday are the normal schedule for a weekend. See note below regarding shutdown beginning 4:00 PM on Monday. 1.3: Shutdown Schedule for Tuesday through Thursday, September 4-6: Monday, 4:00 PM: All materials must be removed from cleanroom hoods. Tuesday, beginning at 7:30 AM: CLEANROOM CLOSED. No ultrapure water available, no acid processing in laboratories. No hazardous gases available. Wednesday, all day: CLEANROOM CLOSED. Wednesday, 4:00 PM: All materials must be removed from laboratory hoods (Including biosafety cabinets; all bio materials must be removed from exhausted enclosures). Thursday, 8:00 AM: Cleanroom will re-open, barring unforeseen circumstances. Thursday, all day: LABORATORIES CLOSED. Friday, 8:00 AM: Laboratories will re-open, barring unforeseen circumstances. More than 10 different universities, including the University of Iowa and the University of Akron (Ohio) have received threats, some of them building specific, and some of them naming the entire campus. None of these email threats has resulted in an actual event. All of them have been determined to be a hoax. If you receive a bomb threat through email, please follow our normal bomb threat procedure, which includes notifying Purdue University Police Department (call 911). Do not delete the email, as an officer will come to your location to gather additional information.
