Laureates and
faculty discuss the future of publication of scientific research, speculate
about the future dissemination of science
knowledge in the Internet age, and grapple with issues such
as:
- How does the
Internet change science?
- What are the
most important issues in science to be communicated in the next 5
years?
- What are the
most misunderstood issues in science today?
- What is the
role of science journalism in the research and discovery
cycle?
- What is the
role of science journalism in the entrepreneurship cycle?
Confirmed faculty
participants in the Town Hall will be Dean of Libraries James Mullins and Prof.
William Muir of the College of Agriculture. Other possible
participants are Profs. Herb Moskowitz, Patricia Davies, Joe Francisco, and
Howard Sypher. The Town Hall will be audio and videotaped for
podcasting. Overflow space will be provided.
