[BNC-all] Solvents in Acid Hoods

Dear Birck cleanroom users, We shared recently that someone had been using solvents in our acid hoods, and this practice is strictly forbidden due to safety reasons and waste handling issues. Periodically we submit a sample of our neutralized acid waste to a testing company where they analyze the sample for many different chemicals. Our recent submission revealed a high concentration of acetone which reflects someone disposing of solvents down our acid waste drains. As you know, all solvent waste must be containerized and not disposed of down any drain in Birck. Please proceed accordingly. Ron
