BNC NewsJune 22, 2009ANNOUNCEMENTSInternet Usage. During routine scans ITaP notified ECN that several copyright violations in the form of pirated movies, music and other protected content are occurring on the Birck subnets. This is a very serious situation, violating University and ECN policies, and U.S. Law. If caught, Purdue University can revoke your electronic privileges. This would have very serious consequences to you as a student, not the least of which is the elimination of your Coral account. This would prevent the use of equipment in the BNC. Such actions would be at a University level, and therefore would not be subject to appeal within Birck. Please remember that Purdue bandwidth is provided for official business, and please use internet responsibly.
