The campus steam system is gradually building up pressure. It normally runs at 115 psi, and has now recovered to approximately 75 psi. This is compared to 0 earlier today, when we were in the midst of the problem. This recovery is very good, but we are not back to the situation where we can restart all of our systems. Once restarted, we wish to ensure that everything stabilizes and we don't overtax any of our upcoming systems. For this reason: The cleanroom will be closed until 8:00 AM Thursday, 1 Feb 07. Hazardous chemical processing (i.e., processing in hoods) in the laboratories will be closed until 8:00 AM Thursday, 1 Feb 07, as well. Other laboratory processing, including using squirt-bottles of alcohol, etc., is allowed, effective immediately. Thank you for both your understanding and cooperation during this unexpected campus-wide event. John Weaver John R.
