ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monday, January 19, is a University Holiday.

Mandatory Attendance: All-User Meetings [User = anyone using any Birck laboratories and/or cleanroom.] It is required that all users attend one of these meetings and highly recommended that faculty attend as well. The agenda will cover policy updates and changes, general information for the Birck community, and critical safety information.

Wednesday, 21 January 2009 and Thursday, 22 January 2009
6:00 PM – 7:30 PM each night
Lilly Hall Room 1105 each night

You must bring your badge — either your Birck ID or your Purdue ID — to the meeting. We will be using an electronic check-in procedure and you will need your ID to receive credit for attending. You must be on time for the meeting. The doors will close at 6:00 PM and no one will be admitted after that time. The annual chemical Right to Know (RtK) information, required by law, will be presented at this meeting. Therefore, anyone not attending an all-user meeting will have access to the cleanroom and laboratories removed. Please contact JOHN WEAVER (jrweaver@purdue.edu) — or any Engineering Staff member — if you have any questions.

KUDOS! William J. Rowe, an engineering staff member here at Birck, was named a Distinguished Hoosier by Gov. Mitch Daniels for his 39 years of service with the Indiana National Guard. Rowe, a sergeant first class in the National Guard, received the Distinguished Hoosier Award at a concert and retirement ceremony in his honor in November. Rowe, who joined Birck as the e-beam lithography process and equipment owner in 2007, has 29 years of experience in the nanofabrication industry with Delco Electronics and DuPont Photomasks, Inc.
