Attention all BMEs! Purdue's BMES chapter has once again entered a team into Purdue's Relay for Life, to be held this Thursday, April 28th, from 7-9 p.m. The purpose of Relay is to raise awareness of cancer and to raise funds to help fund research and support patient care programs through the American Cancer Society. Our BME team is currently in 9th place (out of 11 teams), and have set a rather lofty goal to raise $1,000 for ACS. You can either donate a specific dollar amount, or purchase a luminaria in honor or memory of a loved one. I can tell you - the luminaria ceremony at Relay is incredibly moving and meaningful. I have yet to get through one without tears... BMES will be set up outside of MJIS 1097 from 1-3 p.m. tomorrow to pass out free ribbons.
