[Bmeroundtable-list] Please join me in thanking Young Kim
Dear all, I wanted to announce that Young Kim will be stepping down from his role as Associate Head for Research. He has dedicated so much to his role and would like to now focus his time on his scholarly work, research, government service via the CDC, and entrepreneurial activities, especially the HemaChrome team. First, I want to say how much I appreciate how he has so graciously assisted me over the past 5 months to ensure a smooth transition as I interviewed, accepted, and began the role as Head. In addition, I think I speak for Weldon in thanking Young for his extensive service efforts in this role since 2022. He provided critical leadership and service during a difficult administrative time. I want to sincerely thank him for his service and dedication to the school and I hope you will also extend this gratitude to him as well! With this departure, I will not be seeking to replace this role at this time. I will be working with leadership and administration to reallocate tasks and navigate a new path. Moving forward, please reach out directly to me for issues such as lab space allocation, graduate student desk allocation, postdoc and visiting scholar office and desk allocation, and other facilities issues. As we transition to this new administrative model, I ask for your continued grace. Also, please reach out if you have any concerns or questions. Thanks again to Young for his contributions!
