Postdoc Program in Neurological Disease (NOMIS-Gladstone Fellowship Program)

NOMIS–Gladstone
Fellowship Program at the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease
(GIND).
This interdisciplinary training and research program offers exceptional postdoctoral scientists the freedom to address big unanswered
questions at the intersection of two or more scientific disciplines.
Gladstone provides an ideal environment for training in integrative neuroscience with dedicated mentorship by world-class investigators.
Collaborations with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) further expand the opportunities for professional and career
development. NOMIS–Gladstone Fellows will be appointed as scientists at GIND and will have an affiliation with UCSF’s Department of Neurology.

on this website if you were admitted to the BME or IBSC graduate program prior to the year 2022. You might choose instead to follow the revised prelim process – next link below. Discuss this with your faculty research advisor(s) and let me know in advance
if you plan to follow the new process. The BME grad office will assume you are following the original prelim process unless you tell Sandy otherwise.

info for students admitted 2022 and beyond – You must follow the
instructions on this website if you were admitted to the BME or IBSC graduate program anytime in the year 2022 and beyond.
For all students – Four preliminary examining committee members are required and these do not have to be all the same as your plan
of study and/or qual committee members. Discuss with your faculty research advisor(s) to determine an appropriate committee. If you plan to have an examining committee member who is not at Purdue we will need to request a special graduate faculty appointment
for that person. For this Sandy will need the person’s C.V. as soon as possible to ensure the request can be submitted and approved before your proposed prelim date. Once you have the date, time and location set for your prelim, you will need to submit the
online GS form 8 (link in myPurdue under the Academics tab) at least two weeks in advance.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy
The labs of Dr. AP Ganesan and Dr. P Vijayanand are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to undertake research in tumor
immunology to investigate novel therapeutic targets for cancer immunotherapy and translation to the clinic. The candidate will work under the joint mentorship of Dr. Ganesan (oncologist/physician scientist; Assistant Professor, UCSD) and Dr. Vijayanand (Professor,
LJI).

Research focus
To investigate molecular and cellular mechanisms of anti-tumor immunity and test novel immunotherapy targets using cutting-edge genomic and immunological tools and mouse models
Requirements
• Ph.D. or MD/PhD in immunology
• Previous experience in murine work and in vivo experiments using mouse models
• Experience with tumor models, brain tumor models, leukemia models is desirable
