My name is Bill O’Connor and I am the Recruitment Manager for Hanley, Flight & Zimmerman, LLC. We are a patent law firm located here in Chicago. Purdue Engineering Alumni Taylor Grote and Adam Popper are members of our Patent Engineer team. We always look forward to recruiting with your Biomedical Engineering student body.

We will be holding a virtual Information Session hosted on Zoom Thursday, March 24th  from 4:30 -5 pm EST (https://purdue-edu.zoom.us/j/99218008676) as part of the Graduate Virtual Career Fair being held Friday, March 25th.
We are also going to be attending the Graduate Virtual Career fair hosted on Career Fair Plus from 10 am – 3 pm EST on Friday March 25th.

Our firm is particularly interested in members of the MS and PhD programs. One third of the practitioners in our law firm have Masters or PhDs in their respective engineering fields.

Our job opportunity is a full-time position and is posted on the Career Center job board (912066- Patent Engineer Biomedical). Due to specific client agreements, this position is available to candidates with Permanent Residency or US Citizenship. But all who would like to learn more about the patent law career path are welcome to attend.

 

The title of the Information Session is Engineers and the Patent Law Career Path and we will discuss the trajectory an engineer has within the patent law career path (patent engineer, patent agent, patent attorney). Patent Engineers at HFZ use their engineering skills to protect a wide range of technologies for some of the most innovative companies in the world. Seven of the top twenty-five patent producing entities in the US use HFZ for their patent prosecution needs.

 

We would appreciate it if you could help us promote this opportunity with your Biomedical Engineering graduate students.
