WEST LAFAYETTE and INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Purdue University in-person classes and nonessential campus operations in West Lafayette will not begin until 10:30 a.m. Monday (Jan. 26) due to adverse winter weather conditions.

 

The Indianapolis location will be in a state of limited operations, meaning students and non-essential staff should not come to campus and classes will be virtual.

 

In West Lafayette, unless notified explicitly by the instructor via email or Brightspace about an online alternative, classes with a scheduled start time prior to 10:30 a.m. are canceled. Purdue Online courses will continue on their normal schedule.

 

West Lafayette staff not designated as essential do not need to report to work until 10:30 a.m. Essential personnel should follow established procedures. Information on essential staff designation is available on the human resources page.

 

West Lafayette dining courts will follow normal operating hours, with the exception of Hillenbrand that remains closed due to a weather-related leak. In Indianapolis, Tower Dining will be available for food service.

 

The Córdova Recreational Sports Center will open at 8 a.m., and scheduled programs may be limited. Check the website for updates.

 

Purdue University Student Health Extended Care Services will be available for normal operating hours. PUSH will resume all other services at 10:30 a.m.

 

The Campus Connect shuttle will not run on Monday.

 

West Lafayette’s Campus Transit service will begin operating at 8:30 a.m. instead of the usual 7 a.m.

 

Riders are encouraged to regularly check for service updates and weather-related cancellations using the following methods: 

 

You are asked to continue to avoid parking on Purdue-designated snow routes until the university provides an all‑clear update.

Purdue administrators and public safety officials are working with city and county personnel to actively monitor the weather, and they ask everyone to remain aware of the potential for changing conditions. University officials continue to monitor roadway and sidewalk conditions and encourage employees to do the same and also to be aware of any local travel restrictions that might be in place. Those planning to travel on area roads should monitor their county travel status.
