The Purdue Institute for Cancer Research and Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars (OGSPS) are
launching a writing-intensive NIH F31/F30 Award Workshop for PhD students or MD/PhD students interested in applying for F31 or F30 awards.
Four out of the ten students who completed this workshop series in the past were awarded the fellowship. This year, we extend the workshop to MD/PhD students interested in F30 awards and hope to help more students in their grant applications and achieve
their career goals in health-related research.

2024 National NIH K12 DiabDocs Program LOI Announcement
See attached
We are excited to share that the
DiabDocs
program is now soliciting a fourth cycle of letters of intent for applications for our mentored career development program from early career physician scientists engaged in research
relevant to diabetes and within the scope of NIDDK including basic, translational, clinical, epidemiology/biostatistical, informatics, health services or health policy projects. Most funded scholars will focus on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research,
and limited slots are available for persons working in type 2 diabetes (T2D).
The letters of intent (LOIs) are due on
Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 5pm (ET) via the REDCap form:
https://redcap.link/x7upmzv7
After reviewing the LOIs, individuals will be invited to submit full applications by Monday, January 13, 2025, at 5pm (ET) and
an in-person program retreat in Baltimore, MD between March 5-6, 2025, that will include interviews. Award funding will begin on July 1, 2025. Please feel free to distribute the LOI Announcement to your contacts and let us know
where you have disseminated the information.
In addition, please find attached the eligibility criteria for program scholars for your review and records. The verbiage comes from
the NIH funding opportunity announcement (FOA) statement.
Resubmission Guidelines:
- For applicants resubmitting their proposal, a LOI must be received by
November 12, 2024, to show interest in the program.
- LOI must include: 1) the original AIMS/Research Plan pages from the original full application and 2) a revised AIMS/Research
Plan page demonstrating how the applicant intends to improve the proposal.
- In addition, if invited to submit a full application, applicants must submit a 1-page response to the comments/feedback received
from the study section in the previous recruitment cycle. The 1-page response would be required at the full application stage and not the LOI stage.
Here are some upcoming workshops and deadlines more detailed information about the workshops will be sent out separately closer to
