NSF GRFP workshop series offered June-July

The OGSPS Fellowships Office is offering a three-part workshop series with additional help sessions to support students in crafting a strong application for the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) ahead of the October 2025 deadline.

 

·       Part 1: Overview (June 4 & 16) – Learn about eligibility, benefits, review criteria, and application strategy

·       Part 2: Personal Statement (June 18) – Tips for telling your story and clarifying your goals

·       Part 3: Research Statement (July 22) – How to write a clear, compelling research plan

·       Help Sessions (June 24, July 21, July 30; more to be announced in August) – Get feedback on your drafts and answers to your questions from current GRFP Fellows

Scholarship opportunity in Modeling & Simulation, Training, and Education; Due June 21

The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) is the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training event and will be held for 2025 in Orlando, Florida on December 1-4. I/ITSEC offers three scholarships for Masters and Doctoral students interested in a career in Modeling, Simulation, Training, and/or Education—particularly in areas related to strengthening national security. Scholarships include $5,000 for Masters students and $10,000 for Doctoral students as well as a scholarship to attend I/ITSEC in December. Applications are due June 21, 2025 directly to I/ITSEC.

Eligibility requirements:

·       Must be a U.S. citizen

·       Must be enrolled or accepted for a full-time masters or doctoral program in one of the following disciplines: Engineering (related to Modeling, Simulation, and/or Training or Systems Engineering), Operations Research/Systems Analysis/Mathematics, Distance Learning Methodologies, Human Factors (Psychology or Engineering), Instructional Design and Training Methodology, Computer Science and/or Information Sciences

·       Must have a stated interest and career goal in the Modeling & Simulation, Training, and/or Education Industry

·       Must be able to attend I/ITSEC on December 1-4, 2025

·       Must not already be fully funded with alternative fellowships, scholarships, or grants (not including assistantships)
