We are implementing a standardized Cold Room Usage Policy for the MJIS 3052C cold room to support safe, organized, and well-managed operation of this shared research space.
At present, access to the MJIS 3052C cold room is limited to a small number of faculty research groups who have been directly involved in policy development and implementation.
These groups have received detailed guidance and are currently transitioning to operating in accordance with the policy.
This message is intended to provide general awareness to our broader Weldon School Community to:
• Clarify that the MJIS 3052C cold room is transitioning to a controlled-access shared resource, with a target effective date of
May 11, 2026
• Avoid confusion regarding access and use of the space
• Provide a pathway for onboarding as additional users or needs arise over time
