Participate in Motor Learning Study and Earn a $15 Gift Card or Cash!

See attached

The Purdue Robust and Adaptive Design (RAAD) Lab is conducting a research study on motor learning and exercise performance, and we are seeking participants to join us. This study aims to evaluate how wearable resistance devices combined with audiovisual feedback influence the form and effectiveness of overhead squats.

As a participant, you will be asked to perform a series of overhead squats while wearing a resistance device and receiving terminal visual and audio feedback. During the study, we will collect data through motion capture technology, video recordings, and performance surveys to assess your squat mechanics and learning progress. Wearable markers will be used with a motion-capture system to accurately track your movements.

You will be asked to attend one session lasting approximately 90 to 120 minutes. During this session, you will:

·         Provide basic demographic and physiological information.

·         Have motion capture markers attached to your lower body.

·         Perform overhead squats under different resistance and feedback conditions.

·         Complete brief surveys about your experience and performance.

Compensation: You will receive a $15 gift card or in cash for each hour completed, totaling up to $30 for the entire session.

Eligibility Criteria:

·         18 to 40 years old.

·         Generally healthy with no history of musculoskeletal or neurological disorders affecting motor control.

·         Physically active and familiar with basic squat exercises.

If you meet these criteria and are interested in participating, please fill out our survey https://forms.gle/BrVEKqBU1Rvpecpn8

For any questions or more information about the study, please contact Eugenio Frias-Miranda at efrias@purdue.edu. The primary investigator for this project is Laura H. Blumenschein (School of Mechanical Engineering).

We appreciate your consideration and look forward to your participation!

Eligibility Requirements:

·         Must be 18 years old or older.

·         Must be able to attend the single session.

·         Must have no history of musculoskeletal or neurological disorders affecting motor control.

·         Must be physically active and familiar with performing squats.
