The topic for December’s BRAG event is “Passions and Priorities: Academic and Industry Careers in Biomedical Sciences.” Dr. Brubaker will lead an informal guided discussion and share his insights from postdoc positions in both academia and industry, such as:

• An Abandoned Post-PhD Startup
• The Unicorn Academic-Industry Hybrid Postdoc
• Large Pharma vs. Small Biotech Environments
• Early Career Roles in Industry (e.g. bench, manager, venture capital)
• Why industry wasn’t for me…but almost was…

As icing on the cake, there will also be cookies to decorate (and devour). 🍪

In addition to our regular BRAG group, I will open this event up to senior graduate students that are thinking about applying to academic and/or industry postdoc positions in the near future.
