present a poster or give an oral talk at this event. There is no cost to present or attend, lunch will be provided, and top presenters can win cash prizes!

Pediatric Medical Devices Course Fall 2025

Course Description: The unique medical needs of pediatric patients in the context of current and emerging clinical technologies are
presented in this novel course. Anatomical, physiological, and pathophysiological underpinnings of diseases in infants and children are studied. Unique aspects of pediatric device design, regulation, and translation, including clinical studies and ethical
considerations, are explored. Numerous clinical subspecialties such as neonatology, cardiology, surgery, nephrology, pulmonology, orthopedics, and gastroenterology are examined in terms of available technologies and remaining clinical needs. Future directions
in device development and emerging trends in patient care are considered throughout.

AROP
– short for Advanced Research Opportunities Program – is an RWTH Aachen University funding program that offers travel grants and scholarships to support research stays of international PhD students and postdocs from strategically relevant international
universities or research institutions. The goal of the program is to strengthen and intensify bilateral relations between RWTH Aachen University and international universities or research institutions of strategic relevance.
Among other purposes, you may use your research stay to work on joint research projects and publications and to initiate joint projects
in the field of capacity building.
Information at a glance:
Target Group: PhD students and postdocs of strategically relevant international universities and research institutions
Length of stay: up to 6 months
Deadline: March 31, 2025
Scholarship: Monthly stipend of € 1,800 | Travel grant of € 500 to 1,500 euros (depending on country of origin)
