The Purdue Writing Lab has announced the dates for the Summer 2023 Intensive Writing Experience.
The purpose of the Intensive Writing Experience is to give masters and doctoral students in good standing with their programs time
to write or revise their thesis or dissertation with support from the Writing Lab staff. To participate, graduate students at the Purdue West Lafayette campus must be in good standing with their academic program, must be writing or revising a thesis or dissertation,
and must have the approval of their major professor or the director of graduate studies in their department.

Next-Generation Transport Systems (NGTS) Conference
We are writing to invite you to participate and present your recent research at the upcoming NGTS-3 (3rd Next Generation
Transportation Systems) conference. The event will take place from May 16th to 18th 2023 at Purdue University, in a hybrid format (both in-person and virtually).
NGTS is a student organized international conference that brings together researchers, professionals, and experts in the transportation
industry to share their knowledge and ideas on the latest trends and advancements. This year, NGTS participants are specially invited to attend the Autonomous Motorsports Purdue (AMP) Club’s Inaugural Intercollegiate Autonomous Go Kart Race.
We would like to invite you to submit an abstract of your research or a case study for consideration as a podium or poster presentation.
The abstract should have 200-400 words.

Response & Education (CARE) Summer Workshops
This summer, the Graduate School’s Office of Professional Development is collaborating with the Center for Advocacy, Response & Education
(CARE) to offer three free workshops for graduate students and postdocs. These workshops will be offered fully online and facilitated by a CARE staff member. You can learn more about each workshop below.
May 22 | 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm | Zoom
Bystander intervention is an evidence-based strategy for preventing interpersonal violence. This workshop is designed to educate students
about recognizing an unsafe situation, the different methods for safe intervention, and how to identify and mitigate the barriers that may prevent them from intervening in situations they determine to be unsafe.
CARE-ing
Support: Responding to Disclosures of Interpersonal Violence
June 6| 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm | Zoom
Research shows that students are more likely to disclose experiences of interpersonal violence to informal sources, like their peers.
This workshop is intended to educate the students about how to respond to peer disclosures of interpersonal violence.
July 7 | 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm | Zoom
Interpersonal violence is a complex problem that has directly or indirectly impacted everyone at some point. This workshop is designed
to increase students understanding of how power and control dynamics influence interpersonal violence and the barriers to breaking the patterns of violent behaviors within relationships.
A brief overview of the services offered at CARE will be presented during each session.
