Just wanted to send a quick reminder regarding severe weather procedures, as there is a possibility of severe storms today!

In the event that a severe storm should develop to the point where the alert sirens are activated, you should stop all activity (classes, experiments, etc.) and proceed directly to the lowest level (e.g., basement) of whatever building you are in. Stay away from glass and exterior walls. Remain in place until you receive an all-clear message.

Hopefully, you will never need this knowledge, but to be forewarned is to be forearmed!

(In the 16 years we’ve been in MJIS, I only recall having to go to the basement twice!)

Stay safe, everyone!

Jo
