The Food and Drug Administration does much more than just regulate food and drugs. FDA is also responsible for ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical devices, biologics, veterinary products, cosmetics,
and products that emit radiation.
The Office of Cardiovascular Devices has teams of engineers, scientists, clinicians, and public health experts that oversee medical devices such as pacemakers, stents, heart valves and more. This includes scientific
and regulatory reviews of device design, bench testing, animal testing, clinical trials, manufacturing, adverse events, and recalls. Our reviewers have the opportunity to work on many novel devices and contribute at every stage from early development all
the way to commercialization. It’s extremely rewarding to be part of an organization whose goal is to bring safe, effective and life-saving medical technologies to patients around the world!
We are always interested in speaking with engineers or scientists with prior experience or research in medical technologies. U.S. Citizens who are interested in learning more about opportunities with FDA at our

Forum Graduate Student Professional Development Conference to be held March 23-27. Founded in 2020, the GradFUTURES Forum is a week-long professional development conference that is FREE and open to graduate students from other institutions across the country
and around the world. (Postdocs, administrators, and faculty who work with and support graduate students are also welcome to register.)
Featuring dozens of keynote speakers, skill-building workshops, career panels, the conference offers dozens of online programs that support graduate students' and postdocs’ success and prepare them for diverse career pathways. In years past, we have had hundreds
of participants from more than 100+ unique institutions attend this signature conference for graduate students.
