EU Funding PhD Positions for Masters students
We managed to get funding for
15 PhD positions via an EU-funded
MSCA
- Doctoral Network called
StraDiVarious (Strains, Diagnostics, and Variants). The project will involve research
on fundamental biology leading to the development of next-generation diagnostics on ESKAPE pathogens.
The 15 positions are in really great labs across Europe and are now open for applications.

There are two
organ-on-a-chip-related projects, i.e. DC6 with
Sally
Peyman
at Heriot-Watt
University in Edinburgh/Scotland
and DC7 with Nathalie
Sauvonnet
at Institut
Pasteur in Paris/France.
Plus thera are three
diagnostics and sensor development projects, involving aptamers (DC8) with
Lígia
Rodrigues
at Universidade
do Minho/Portugal, upconversion
nanoparticles (DC12) with Ian
Eastwood
at Eluceda/UK
and my project (DC13) on developing electroanaytical sensors for adhesin-receptors at
Stockholm
University/Sweden.

Award and Symposium for Senior Graduate students in Stem Cell Research

Mentors can nominate a senior graduate student performing stem cell research for an Award and travel costs to attend UW-Madison's Graduate
Student Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research Symposium that will be held over two days concurrently with the 21st annual Wisconsin Stem Cell Symposium on April 14-15, 2026. The theme this year is "Decoding the Regenerative Dialogue Between Inflammatory
and Stem Cell Pathways."
Selected students for the 2026 Wisconsin Stem Cell Graduate Scholar Awards will present their work and attend the symposium,
have the opportunity to meet with faculty as potential postdoc mentors, and visit and tour Madison. Applicants should be senior graduate students defending their thesis between summer 2026 and summer 2027, and have not committed to a postdoctoral position
before the symposium is held. The deadline for application is January 31, 2026.
