Dear BME faculty, staff, & students,
I’m sure many of you weren’t aware, but MJIS 1097 is not
classified as a classroom. Because of its connection to our Senior Design Lab, it’s officially designated with the university as a laboratory space and therefore we need to apply our professional lab standards to this room as well. OSHA, REM and University
Policies state that food is not allowed in a lab setting.
These policies will also apply to events that are held in 1097; including those that are after-hours. Events held in the room should use the public seating area outside of 1097 to set up, serve, and eat refreshments, lunches, and dinners.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Cindy Holderbaum
