Sidewalk closure near Herrick Laboratories scheduled through next week

The university has a drilling operation scheduled for Tuesday 8/23/22 which may also continue on Wednesday 8/24/22.  They are drilling a 12” hole 35’ deep starting at 7:30/8:00am Tuesday morning.  There will also be a vac truck in the area for some excavation activities up against the Herrick Laboratories (HLAB) building.

There could be noise and vibration in the area. The sidewalk and area located behind Herrick Laboratories (HLAB) is currently closed to facilitate drilling activities. The closure will remain in place through next Friday (Aug. 26). Parking in the lot behind MJIS and HLAB will be restricted also.

Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists should use caution in the area, obey all posted signs and seek alternate routes. The sidewalk from the parking lot to MJIS should not be affected.

Questions may be directed to Larry Morgan, Jr., project manager, at morganl@purdue.edu or (765) 494-7158.
