Good afternoon!
The VA just posted the job application for our Technical Career Field (TCF) program for the upcoming year! This is a career development program that the VA has for entry level positions. I came into the VA through the TCF program and it
was a phenomenal basis to start from for the clinical biomedical engineering field. TCF’s are ‘trainees’ for 18-24 months during which they spend a lot of time with their preceptor to learn and get a training budget for conferences, additional trainings, etc.
‘Trainees’ are full-time employees with a salary and benefits package. After the ‘trainee’ period, they will become full-on staff BME’s. Lexington is a training site this year so one of the positions will be reporting to me.
It’s one application for all of the sites. The applicant will be able to pick which sites they would like to be considered for. The application is open through next Tuesday 3/10/2026. I would be happy to chat with any students that have
questions about the program. Would one of you be willing to send the application link out to the students?
