Good afternoon, BME graduate students!!

I hope everyone enjoyed the orientation festivities last week and is having a great start to your semester! I am your Co-Chair of Professional Development this year with Tommy Jenkins, and I am so excited to work with you all in implementing the many exciting events BMEGSA is planning to host this year! Among these is our annual BME Bytes seminar series, where we offer you the opportunity to practice presenting your research to peers as well as to undergraduate students. This not only gives you great experience for conferences and future presentations, but it is a fun opportunity to share your research with other students in a relaxed setting where you can receive helpful feedback and potentially spark collaborations! It is also great exposure for undergraduates to learn more about our department’s research and have a chance to ask questions. Therefore, I would like to strongly encourage everyone to sign up at the link below if you are interested in helping to take part in this event as a presenter! There are additional details regarding the event on the form, but we would love to start hosting these in late September about every other week or so. The presentation is usually given in MJIS, around 20-30 minutes long, and food will be provided. Once we receive enough responses, we will reach out individually to confirm presentation times. If you have any additional questions regarding this event, please reach out to me or Tommy and we would be more than happy to answer! Thank you in advance for your help, and I look forward to an amazing year together!

Best,
